The River of Light Trail is open until 7th November 2021. So you need to get down quick!

Oh why can’t these mesmerising installations be with us all the time? I love the river of light!

Usually a 2KM trail loop around the city’s iconic waterfront, featuring 12 large scale light and sound art installations from local, national and international artists.

This autumn, the pieces fit the theme ‘Rhythm of the Light’ in celebration of Liverpools iconic music scene.

Many of the pieces are interactive, so great fun for kids.

I’m not going to spoil it all, you’ll have to go see for yourself. But here are a few of my favourite pieces.

Start your trail at the Trumpet Flowers in Exchange Flags Square. Created by Amigo & Amigo, Australia. Each flower has a large button that plays a trumpet tune when pressed.

The pool, by American artist Jen Lewis

is an interactive light sculpture designed to activate public space and promote community engagement. visitors can activate platforms that respond to touch.

Dance Together by Lucid Creates, in partnership with Chibuku.

A brand new commission by Culture Liverpool. This celebration of club culture brings together archive music from some of the most celebrated nights.

Sonic Runway by Rob Jensen & Warren Trezevant.

A tunnel of lights converting audio signals into patterns of light that shoot down a 432 ft corridor of 25 LED lined arches at the speed of sound.

Make sure you get down there this week, before it’s too late.
